What if my balance is smaller than the cheapest purchase?

Then an exact match may not be possible. Zero Balance shows you the closest option and how much it goes over - all before you pay - so you can decide whether to continue. Every purchase is confirmed separately through Apple's standard prompt.

This comes up when you have just a few cents left - less than the smallest item Zero Balance can buy. In that case the app cannot land on zero exactly, so it shows you the nearest plan and exactly how much it would go over, in your own currency, before anything is charged. If clearing the balance is worth a few extra cents to you - say, to finally unlock changing your App Store region - you continue. If not, you leave it; the balance does not expire. Either way, Apple still asks you to confirm each purchase on its own, so there are no surprises.
